Programme Director
Adela's current conference programme includes Russia and the CIS, China, a series of meetings on Libya and the European Union’s foreign and security policy.
Adela has also worked on intervention, nation/state building and post conflict reconstruction and is devising a new strand of work on science and technology.
She was previously a foreign correspondent, based in Madrid, reporting on Spain, Portugal and North Africa for The Economist and The Guardian. Before that she was a Laurence Stern fellow at The Washington Post, and a reporter for The Daily Telegraph in London covering defence issues.
Adela began her career with Reuters News Agency, London and then reported from New York, the United Nations, Chicago and Washington DC. She was appointed to the Order of the British Empire for services to Anglo-Spanish relations.
She read Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University (MA Hons), and also studied at Seville University.
