Mark's current conference programme focuses on nuclear non-proliferation, especially the future of the NPT and the prospects for nuclear reductions and elimination.  He also has a strong interest in chemical and biological weapons non-proliferation, and arms trade treaty issues.

 

Mark was previously Research Fellow at the Mountbatten Centre for International Studies and Lecturer in International Security at the University of Southampton, and, before that, Research Fellow at Swansea University.

 

His publications include NATO Enlargement During the Cold War: Strategy and System in the Western Alliance (Palgrave); co-author, Britain, Australia and the Bomb: The Nuclear Tests and Their Aftermath (Palgrave); and a number articles on missile proliferation, nuclear disarmament, and missile defences.

 

Mark studied Politics at the University of East Anglia (BA Hons), and International Politics at the University of Wales Aberystwyth (MSc Econ Strategic Studies and PhD).
