Global economy
At a time of global austerity, this programme focuses on improvements in financial regulation and strategies to avert debt crisis to deliver sustained growth.
Meetings are also convened to discuss trade liberalisation, structural reform, wealth development and wealth creation, often focusing on key regions, such as Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean States. The reinvigoration of the Doha Round is still a key discussion point, as are issues such as trade restraints, corruption, money-laundering, and the establishment of a rules-based trading order. Discussions on food and energy security and their impact on the global economy have also taken place.
