British German Forum 2015: Strengthening our resilience in a world of shocks and crises
Monday 13 – Thursday 16 July 2015
We are aiming to bring together 50 influential younger Britons and Germans working in business, finance, government, politics, media, academia and civil society to participate in our three day residential workshop at Wiston House. The age range of participants is usually 25-35.
The Forum provides a neutral, dynamic space in which future leaders can network and share ideas with their peers and gain insight and inspiration from experienced professionals. This is a unique opportunity for the next generation to build shared understanding, international cooperation and for self-development.
Topics will include:
- Energy futures: shortages and price volatility
- Extreme weather, climate change, pandemics
- Eurozone and EU futures
- Russia and the long-term impact of the Ukrainian crisis
- ISIL and the threat of home-grown radicalism
- How modern democratic societies can best work to prepare and manage crises
