Robert has a core focus on conflict, stabilisation, peace processes and peacebuilding. His portfolio also includes good governance, the rules-based international system and China’s role within it, Central/Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
Before joining Wilton Park in 2008, Robert was Senior Research Associate at the US Center for Research and Education on Strategy and Technology (U.S.-CREST), an Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), and consultant to the Institute for Defense Analyses and the French-American Foundation.
He has authored numerous reports and publications in the areas of foreign and security policy.
Robert studied History at the University of Michigan (BA Hons) and International Politics at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris (PhD).
