The role 

The Guest Services and Reception Officer is the first point of contact for all visitors to Wilton Park, providing a professional and friendly welcome and delivering a quality experience to everyone that approaches the reception desk.

Key responsibilities

The Guest Services and Reception Officer is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for all guests and visitors, providing excellent customer service, and handling a variety of administrative duties.

Their responsibilities include checking in and checking out guests, answering inquiries, managing reservations, and addressing any guest concerns or needs during their stay.

Collaboration with other departments is vital in this role, effectively communicating and liaising with others to ensure our guests’ visit is seamless.

You will be an organised problem solver who thrives under pressure and handles last-minute changes effortlessly. A Guest Services and Reception Officer must proactively prioritise tasks, completing them within agreed timelines and to consistently high standards.

Person specification  

Essential skills

  • Competent in Microsoft Office 365 and CRM database management systems
  • Proven customer service experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, remaining calm and professional under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads

Working pattern and hours 

The vacancy is full time working for 37 hours (net) 39.5 hours per week with a combination of early, late and day shifts, working 5 out of 7 days and will include weekends and occasional bank holidays.

Contract type  

Permanent.

Interview date

w/c 12 May 2025.

Expected start date

June/July 2025 subject to security clearance.
