This conference has been particularly valuable because of the way it was so carefully prepared. Wilton Park brought together people from several different backgrounds who are, in their different ways, concerned with the central problem of this conference – the right to peaceful protest. I mistakenly thought I knew all about this subject. Through this conference I have now gained an appreciation of some new dimensions. I have also had the privilege of meeting people deeply concerned with this issue whom I might otherwise never have had the opportunity to meet.
