During the COVID-19 pandemic Wilton Park has been convening dialogues on health responses, including around preparation for the introduction of a COVID-19 vaccine(s), the training of community health workers, and the governance needed around global health as it becomes increasingly shaped by digital health applications and Artificial Intelligence.
This programme is global, focusing on creating healthier societies, and has a strong focus on health in low and middle-income countries.
Wilton Park brings together health leaders and experts from across the world and over recent years has focused on, amongst other key issues: innovation and technology in health; health systems strengthening, international efforts to reduce Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in human and animal health; eliminating malaria, ending the HIV/AIDs epidemic, convening the Tuberculosis (TB) community, creating a global vision for meningitis, women’s health and childhood mortality, the promise of digital health and safer medicines.
By convening experts – from national policy makers, practitioners in the field, global policy shapers, donors, non governmental organisations (NGOs) and the private sector, from political leaders in health to community practitioners, patients and civil society – Wilton Park provides a space where people can share different perspectives and shape their ideas together. Strategic partnerships are developed, action plans established, and international agendas reshaped. We support and amplify the needs of those who may not otherwise have a voice, increasing their capacity to advocate and access specialists in the global issues which affect them.
