BBC Radio 4's Any Questions? Live from Wiston House

BBC Radio 4's Any Questions? will be hosted at Wiston House on Friday 8th August.

Wiston House exterior summer evening

About the show

A flagship political discussion programme, the show tours towns and cities across the UK. Any Questions? brings together a panel of politicians, leading thinkers and commentators to answer questions from the local audience. The panel is yet to be announced, but you can expect a lively, thought-provoking discussion on the issues that matter most to you.

The audience submits questions on the day of the broadcast and these are then sifted by the producer who selects a handful of questions across a range of subjects. Normally, four to six of them are included in the actual broadcast. One of the stringent and unchanging rules of Any Questions? is that the panel never sees the questions in advance; the panellists hear them for the first time at the same moment the audience in the hall and at home does.

Any Questions? is broadcast live on Radio 4 on most Friday evenings of the year following the 8pm news. The programme is repeated on Saturday lunchtimes at 1.10pm, and is followed at 2pm by the Any Answers? phone-in which gives listeners a chance to join in the debate.

About the venue

Wiston House is a striking 16th-century Grade I listed building nestled within the South Downs National Park near Steyning. Wiston House has been the home of Wilton Park, an executive agency of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, since 1951. Wilton Park is tasked by the UK government and international partners with convening policy dialogues on some of the world’s most pressing issues. Today Wilton Park welcomes thousands of guests to Wiston House each year for international strategic dialogues, making the Sussex Downs an unlikely hub for major international policymaking.
