This Wilton Park dialogue brought together a diverse group of stakeholders with a range of perspectives on the future of work.

There was strong agreement that effective labour market reform relies on robust partnership between government, employers, unions and civil society. Participants welcomed the open and honest discussion that was facilitated by this Wilton Park dialogue and strongly agreed that discussions of this kind should be held more regularly.

There is no doubt the global labour market is transforming rapidly bringing both challenges and opportunities at national, sectoral and individual levels. Consequently, labour market policy is becoming increasingly complex, and policymakers should seize these opportunities and address these challenges while ensuring strong employment protections and driving economic growth.

The UK government looks forward to further discussions with stakeholders and feeding our learning into domestic policy development and implementation for the next stage of the Plan to Make Work Pay.
