The workshop produced several clear outcomes:
- A shared commitment to develop a SIDS led blue finance roadmap integrating governance, financing and capacity building.
- Agreement that equity and SIDS special circumstances must be embedded in the BBNJ financing mechanism and Special Fund.
- Recognition of the value of regional approaches to reduce costs and build scale.
- Support for blue finance guidelines that reflect SIDS realities and avoid unnecessary regulatory burdens.
- Momentum behind establishing a SIDS finance and knowledge hub.
- Clear identification of priority actions for governments, donors, MDBs, the private sector and civil society.
