The development finance landscape is undergoing significant change, shaped by mounting global challenges and growing calls from partner countries for change. The outcomes of the Sevilla Commitment underscore an urgent collective need to close the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) financing gap, ensuring that people globally are able to receive essential health, nutrition, education and opportunity to thrive.

As countries work toward a fairer, smarter and more resilient financial system that enables them to fund their development, climate and nature priorities sustainably, new financial instruments are emerging to help mobilise private investment. Philanthropic institutions are re-examining their role within this global financing architecture, while social impact investing continues to grow as a way of aligning capital with social benefits. At the same time, progress on gender equality and wider equality is increasingly under threat, including for women and girls, people with disabilities and LGBT+ communities.

This shifting landscape presents both opportunities and risks for advancing gender equality and social inclusion. It raises critical questions for governments, philanthropy, investors and civil society on how funding models, partnerships and ways of working must evolve.

This conference will bring together diverse perspectives to identify the models, approaches, investments and alliances needed to ensure that public and private financing, and the systems that shape how it is allocated, drive inclusive, rights‑based progress at scale.
