This Wilton Park Dialogue, convened in partnership with the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Initiative (CSCI), will bring together senior government representatives, city leaders, investors and key Commonwealth stakeholders for two days in Guyana immediately preceding CHOGM 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda. Positioned as a strategic contribution to CHOGM’s theme, Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth, the Dialogue will explore how sustainable urbanisation can serve as a practical vehicle for delivering prosperity, resilience, inclusion and sustainable development across the Commonwealth.
Building on the outcomes of the Commonwealth High Commissioners’ meeting at Wilton Park in July 2026 and the findings of the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Coalition (CSCC) pilot, participants will identify priority areas for Commonwealth collaboration and agree practical next steps for operationalising the CSCC as a flagship multi-stakeholder partnership.
The Dialogue will test an integrated approach linking planning, urban finance, housing and skills and capacity, with integrated fiscal policy as the foundation for project assurance and access to urban finance. It will aim to identify two or three credible opportunities with interested partners, and clear next steps to take into the Commonwealth Business Forum and CHOGM.
