This meeting intended to empower participants with the clarity and momentum needed to drive the LLA agenda into fresh realms. Participants agreed that it is vital to take actions within their own organisations and institutions, work collaboratively, and continually strive for justice, equity, and access for those communities affected by the impact of the climate crisis. Critically, readers of this report and other interested stakeholders are actively invited to join the LLA community to take the urgent action that is needed to scale LLA by 2030.
The following, non-exhaustive, list of events are opportunities to build stronger alliances and forms of collaboration to strengthen actions on LLA.
- Global Community of Practice on LLA – 600 members – sharing and learning via periodic meetings. To sign up send an email to: locallyledadaptation@iied.org
- COP30 – LLA is included a key initiative in the adaptation finance action agenda – case studies are being collected, if you are interested in submitting please email: locallyledadaptation@iied.org. There is also an event on LLA in the Action Arena.
- Outside of COP – a Global South House – full of inclusive, accessible events.
- Latin America and Caribbean based convening on LLA in early 2026 – focused on philanthropies.
- 20th International Community-Based Adaptation (CBA) Conference in Asia, in May 2026.
Annex: Stakeholder support for actions identified
The table from page 18 – 38 of the full report, which can be downloaded below, presents a set of items identified by participants during Step 3 as actions they believe should be taken. While some entries are framed as clear actions and others resemble problem statements, all reflect priorities expressed by participants.
The table was generated during Step 5, which enabled participants, according to their stakeholder group, to specifically state which actions they support the most.
Meeting participants and other stakeholders are invited to be strategic about the focus of their work according to which actions have the greatest level of support, and in relation to where other stakeholder groups are choosing to take action.
