The 2024 Washington Summit communique re-iterated that a strong, independent, and democratic Ukraine is vital for the security and stability of the Euro-Atlantic area. This dialogue looked at lessons on strategy, deterrence, and shaping to bolster the Alliance’s ability to proactively shape the strategic environment to our advantage, transform the Alliance, and support Ukraine in it’s existential struggle. The event aimed to:
- Stimulate NATO Supreme Allied Command Transformation’s strategic initiatives on scanning the strategic environment and leveraging strategic lessons learned from Russia’s war on Ukraine to drive transformation of the Alliance.
- Support the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Centre programme of work.
- Stimulate strategic thinking on Ukraine’s and NATO’s long-term military strategic shaping and strategy development.
