The threat to the UK is growing. Driven by global instability, rapid technological change and a greater willingness of states and hostile actors to target our country and allies, the case for a genuinely whole-of-society response to national security has never been more urgent.
Building on the 2025 Strategic Defence Review’s call for a ‘whole of society’ approach, this 24-hour policy roundtable brings together senior policymakers, security experts and international partners to assess the UK’s vulnerability landscape and identify what needs to change.
Discussions will examine the key threats facing UK national security and the concrete actions required to address them. The programme will explore how government and institutions can communicate complex risks more effectively to the public, ensuring people have the information they need to understand threats and play their part in national resilience. Participants will also draw on lessons from international partners who have developed approaches to preparedness, and will identify practical policy, legislative and societal recommendations to support a credible ‘whole of society’ approach to national security.
